The Cincinnati Book Arts Society Invites you to an in-person and Zoom meeting
2 Small Leather Journals – presented by Janice Kagermeier
Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 3:00pm – 5:00pm

Parking in front of the building and in lot across the street
You are invited to a working Study Group session at which you’ll make 2 pocket-sized leather journals using different stitching patterns. Choose which one to keep and donate the other to CBAS for sale at Gathering of the Guilds or Essex Art Walks. All proceeds will go toward studio rent. The supply list is below and we will be using the tools, leather and paper from the studio to assemble these books. However, feel free to bring your own tools that you are comfortable with. If you have a Japanese Screw Punch please bring it.
Supply list: Heavy knife (more substantial than small X-acto), Tapestry/bookbinding needles, cutting mat, waxed linen thread (3-4 ply), ruler, awl, scissors, Japanese screw punch if you have one, punching cradle.
Please RSVP by August 2nd to [email protected] so you’ll be on the list of 12 in-person attendees for this session whether you pay by PayPal, check or cash. This ensures those attending in person will have needed supplies from the studio and those attending by Zoom have time to find any needed supplies to make these structures. You will receive a confirming email.
