THREE CBAS MEMBERS EACH HAVE A BOOK IN THE ILLUSTRATED ACCORDION EXHIBIT HOSTED BY THE KALAMAZOO BOOK ARTS CENTER

Several weeks ago Margaret Rhein sent a link to CBAS members for those who might be interested in entering a book into The Illustrated Accordion exhibit hosted by the Kalamazoo Book Arts Center.  This is the 17th annual exhibition and runs from February 7 – March 21.  However, those entries that have already been received are available to view now.  This link will take you to the exhibit https://kalbookarts.org/events/2025illustratedaccordion/

What is news is three CBAS members have already entered!  Jo Diamantes, Marguerite Katchen and Claire Marcus each have a book in the show.  If you’d like to see your book on display it’s not too late as the deadline is Monday, January 27th.  The information needed to enter is on their website.   A brief description of each book is below but more information is available on the exhibition site.

The four books above are the book Sanctuary by Claire Marcus. Photographs of Hawk Mountain preserve loop-stitched into pamphlets in a dos-a-dos accordion folds structure.

Marguerite Katchen entered her book Masks. The masks are made from Caryola Model Magic.

Tangled Accordion by Jo Diamantes is a whip stitch accordion structure learned from Bonnie Stahlecker of Blue Lizard Studio.
