Two-sewn-as-one AND Dos-à-dos binding
Presented by Jo Diamantes
Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Two-sewn-as-one shown on the left. Notice the tab in the center of both books. Dos-à-dos binding shown on the right. Notice the signatures face different directions.
SUPPLIES NEEDED: We are making prototypes so feel free to use what is on hand. For the covers, two to three pieces of card stock or covers from a recycled calendar that are at least 11” long. Don’t worry about paper grain. For the signatures copier paper or recycled calendar pages are good choices. We’ll cut to size during the meeting. Tools needed: Adhesive (glue stick, tiny amount of PVA or double stick tape), awl, bone folder, clips, craft knife, cutting mat, bookbinding needle and thread, pencil, punching cradle if you have one, metal ruler, scissors. Five hole pamphlet stitch will be used instead of three hole pamphlet stitch.
ADVANCE REGISTRATION REQUIRED. If you would like to attend, please reply to [email protected] by January 11th. You will receive an email confirmation. A day or so before the Saturday meeting you will receive an email invitation with the Zoom link.
OPEN TO CBAS MEMBERS ONLY. Instead of a fee for this study group session we’re asking for donations to help with studio rental fees. There is a PayPal button on this page that may be used or feel free to send a check.
