START PLANNING NOW FOR THE ANNUAL SOS ART EXHIBIT

War Wind by Jan Thomas

For the third year, CBAS works will be displayed together in a featured exhibit-within-an-exhibit at SOS ART Cincinnati. Artists have always used their talents and passion to tell stories of their times. We hope you will share your work on the themes of peace and social justice in what seems like an especially turbulent year by participating in the exhibit. Founded by Saad Ghosn, SOS ART is now in its twenty-second consecutive year. The non-juried show will again include work in all media by artists of all backgrounds and ages. Each year this exhibit attracts a wide audience.

Thanks in advance to Judith Serling-Sturm who for the third year will be coordinating CBAS members’ participation in the show.  As in the past, our submission protocol will differ slightly from the SOS applications for the general public. Closer to the date we’ll post the Call to Artists with all the details.

The exhibit to be held June 21 to July 14 at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. It’s not too early to start thinking about social justice as a theme for your art. Making work for this important and timely show is always a thoughtful artistic experience, and the book arts offer myriad possibilities for bringing those thoughts to life. We hope you will join us.
